Jay Williams is a former NBA point gaurd, Duke University legend, and most recently a college basketball analyst. In Williams' 1999-2000 freshman year he averaged 14.5 ppg and earned the ACC Rookie of the Year Award as well as The Sports News' Freshman of the Year. In 2001 Williams led the Blue Devils to the 2001 NCCA National Championship. His performance in the tournament solidified him as the best college basketball player as he outperformed any other player with 25.7 ppg. The 2001 season was also the year that Williams broke Duke's record for points scored in a season with a total of 841. This outstanding year would led to Williams recieving both the Naismith Award and the Wooden Award. The following year he would play his last season with Duke and graduate with a degree in Sociology. Duke University later retired Williams' 22 jersey. 

After an unforgetable college career, Jay Williams was selected second overall in the 2002 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls. He spent his entire rookie year proving that he was a NBA level point gaurd. Unfortunately his NBA career was cut short due to a motorcycle incident. 

Despite the incident Jay Williams has had a very successful career off the court. He was hired as a college basketball analyst by ESPN and also worked for the CBS College Sports Network during the 2008 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. Williams has even become a motivational speaker and came out with a book titled, "Life is Not an Accident: A Memoir of Reinvention."
