Frank Vogel is a professional basketball coach. In 1994, Vogel transferred to the University of Kentucky. Vogel served as the student manager for the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team then coached by Rick Pitino in the 1994–95 season.
Vogel began his career as the head video coordinator for the Boston Celtics under head coach Rick Pitino. He retained that position for five years before being promoted to assistant coach in the 2001–02 season. Vogel has served as head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers, Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic. After the Celtics, Vogel would move to Indiiana to eventually become their head coach, but started as an assistant coach. Vogel previously served as an assistant coach of the Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics. He did well with the Pacers, bringing them to their first playoff appearnce in over 5 years and reventually being hired by the Lakers.
He coached the Lakers to their 17th championship, and his first, over the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals.He brought them to playoffs again in 2020, despite dealing with an injury riddled team.
