Heather O'Reilly started her soccer career in high school where she scored a total of 143 goals and was the top college recruit in 2002. At the University of North Carolina O'Reilly earned 108 points in her 97 appearences and brought home the NCAA Championship in 2003 and 2006. As a senior she was awared the Honda Award for best soccer player in the country.
O'Reilly had a very extensive career with the USWNT starting in 2002 and ending in 2016. In 2002 she led the U-19 national team to a World Cup. O'Reilly made her first appeareance for the senior team in the 2004 Olympics where she scored a game winning goal in the semi-finals which helped the team move on and defeat Brazil for the Gold Medal. O'Reilly would end up being a part of 4 Olympics and 3 World Cups.
