Barry Switzer is a former football coach and player. He attended University of Arkansas, where in his senior season led the razorback's to a 9-2 record as a captain.

Switzer would briefly serve in the army, before coming back to Arkansas to coach. He would eventually move to coach in Oklahoma in 1966. By 1973, Switzer had elevated himself to the head coaching postion. He served for 16 years as head football coach at the University of Oklahoma and 4 years as head coach of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys. He won three national championships at Oklahoma, and led the Cowboys to win Super Bowl XXX against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has one of the highest winning percentages of any college football coach in history, and is one of only three head coaches to win both a college football national championship and a Super Bowl, the others being Jimmy Johnson and Pete Carroll. Switzer was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002.

In 2004, he received the Jim Thorpe Lifetime Achievement Award. On September 9, 2007 Switzer joined the Fox NFL Pregame show. Switzer got into acting after coaching, playing the part of the head coach of the Prattville Pirates in the 1998 movie Possums. He owns Switzer's Locker Room, Switzer's Vineyards, and a number of other small businesses in the Norman area.
