The team was established in 1967 as the San Diego Rockets an an expansion team originally based in San Diego. In 1971, the Rockets relocated to Houston. The Rockets have won multiple NBA Championships. Over the years the Houston fans have enjoyed watching some of the greatest players in the history of the NBA including Clyde Drexler, Hakeem Olajuwon, Roberty Horry and Charles Barkley along with fan favorites Kenny Smith, Robert Horry and James Harden.
