Tony Gonzalez is a former professional football tight end. Regarded as one of the greatest tight ends of all-time, Gonzalez played college football and college basketball at University of California, Berkeley, and was recognized as a consensus All-American in football.

He was drafted by the Chiefs in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft, where he played for 12 seasons, and was a member of the Atlanta Falcons in his last five seasons. As of 2021, Gonzalez, a 14-time Pro Bowl selection and six-time first-team All-Pro, holds the NFL records for total receiving yards (15,127) and receptions by a tight end (1,325). Also as of 2021, he also ranks third all-time in receptions, trailing only legendary wide receivers Jerry Rice and Larry Fitzgerald. Known for his durability and rarely fumbling, Gonzalez missed two games between 1997 and 2013 and lost only two fumbles on 1,327 touches.

Since retiring, he has served as an analyst for Fox Sports. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019. Gonzalez also tried his hand at acting as a guest star on the television series NCIS during the 13th & 14th seasons, as well as Season 8 of One Tree Hill.
