Penny Hardaway is a college basketball coach and former professional player. Hardaway played college basketball at Memphis and named an All-American there twice. In hus junior year, he also was a finalist for the Naismith College Player of the Year and the John R. Wooden Award.
Hardaway 14 seasons in the NBA, where he was a four-time NBA All-Star and a two-time All-NBA First Team member.Hardaway was selected by the Golden State Warriors third overall in the 1993 NBA draft, but was traded to Orlando.In his first season, he was runner up for Rookie of the year. Also, he helped the Magic to their first playoff berth and first 50-win season. The next year, Hardaway was named to the All-NBA first team, and brought the Magic to a then franchise record of 57 wins. He also led the Magic to the finals. Hardaway then brought the Magic to the Eastern Conference Finals the nest year in the 95-96’ season, as well as in the 96-97’ season. He is widely regarded as one of the leagues most explosive point guards ever.
As fo 2021, Hardaway is the men's basketball head coach for the Memphis Tigers of the American Athletic Conference (AAC). He has had relative success there, after having the nation's best recruiting class in 2019.
