Deron Williams is a former NBA point gaurd and gold medalist. He attended the University of Illinois in 2002 where he started 30 out of 32 games his freshman year. By the 2004-2005 season, Williams was an offensive threat as well as the team's leader. That year the Fighting Illini made a run to the NCAA Championship Game following an epic comeback win in the Final Four led by Deron Williams. At the end of the year Williams was a finalist for the Wooden Award. 

After such a spectacular year Williams declared for the NBA draft and was picked third overall by the Utah Jazz. He made an immediate impact to the team and was the only other player other than Chris Paul to recieve a first place vote for Rookie of the Year. Williams would help the Jazz go to 4 NBA Playoffs in his six years with the organization before going on to play for the Nets (2010-2015), Dallas Mavericks (2015-2017), and ending the 2017 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his career he made the playoffs 9 times and averaged 15.7 ppg with 7 assist. 

Deron Williams has also represented his country in two separate Olympics. In the 2008 Olympics, Williams was a part of the U.S. Men's Basketball Team to go undefeated and win gold. He would then be selected to be on the 2012 Olympics team that would also go on to win Gold.
