The Los Angeles Angels compete in Major League Baseball (MLB). The franchise was founded in Los Angeles in 1961 by Gene Autry as one of the MLB's first two expansion teams and the first to originate in California. 

Numerous baseball greats have played for the Angels including Mike Trout, Nolan Ryan and Rod Carew.
