LeBron James Sr. is a professional basketball player. James is from Akron, Ohio, and was nationally ranked in high school for basketball. After his junior year of high school, it was agreed by many experts that James would have been the number 1 pick in the draft that year, before even playing in his senior year.
James is widely considered to be one of the greatest NBA players in history, if not the greatest. Playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers, James is the only player in NBA history to have won NBA championships with three franchises as Finals MVP (as of 2021). He has competed in ten NBA Finals, including eight consecutive with the Heat and Cavaliers from 2011 through 2018. His accomplishments include four NBA championships, four NBA MVP's, four Finals MVP's, and two Olympic gold medals. As of 2021, James holds the record for all-time playoffs points, is third in all-time points, and eighth in career assists, as of February 2021. James has been selected to the All-NBA First Team 13 times, made the All-Defensive First Team five times, and has played in 16 All-Star Games, in which he was selected All-Star MVP three times. Lebron was drafted immediatley out of high school, being selected by Cleveland with the first overall pick of the 2003 NBA draft. Named the 2003–04 NBA Rookie of the Year, he quickly established himself as one of the league's premier players.
As of 2021, James plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom he just won the 2020 NBA Title. Lebron is a global and cultural icon in today's society, and is famous world-wide.
